Bio
Born and raised in central Ohio, I've been interested in computers since we got our first Amiga 500 when I was a kid.
My first games were designed on the Amiga using S.E.U.C.K. and I eventually got into programming because
I like customizing everything I can. Teaching myself QBasic throughout middle school
then studying Pascal and C++ in high school while learning web development on my own, I quickly decided my passion
is with computers. I once stayed up for 3 days straight during summer break so I could figure out how to write
Pacman in QB and refused to leave my chair until it was done.
Throughout high school I took every computer course offered, such as novell networking, among several science-related
courses like physics, chemistry, and space technology.
I graduated college in 2008 with a bachelor in computer information systems with a major in digital forensics where
I picked up my interest for Java programming and was introduced to SQL. I use MySQL quite frequently on many websites
and use PHP as the front-end. I have some experience with ASP and JSP but prefer PHP whenever given the choice. I've
worked as a web developer on an eCommerce project (which coincidently related directly to my senior year project of
building an eCommerce website) and also have trained/managed a few people on a systems migration project. I have
worked with a few Websphere tools and written training material for using Scene7, and Adobe imaging product. Outside
of work, I continue to study programming and have written several applications. The one I'm most proud of is my network
library for communicating on the TOC2 protocol(AOL IM). It was first written in Java before eventually porting it over to
C#.NET. Other projects have been an iTunes clone, a media library with barcode scanning capabilities which pull information
from Amazon's web service, and a Java IDE (which I actually used for writing my Java homework assignments).
Though I spend a significant amount of time on the computer doing all sorts of web design, computer modeling, game
programming, and being an active member of several forums, I do get outside on a regular basis. I enjoy jogging through
the park, have been continuously skating(aggressive inline) for half my life now, working on my car (my favorite show is
Top Gear), and jamming away on my guitars. I listen to such a variety of music from rock to classical to electronic.
